If at home our family is there cute baby, and we are how does manner bathe it, i have tips that can at use, and i hope entire families can study it.
Family teaching :
Sponge Bath
Assemble the necessary articles on the bathing table. Any sturdy table covered with a clean cloth can be used. articles needed are the following :
Basin of warm water, warm to the elbow, 100º To 105ºF (37,5º - 40ºC). The basin should be used for this purpose only.
cake of mild, unscented soap to be used only if needed.
Soft weshcloth; towel or cotton blanket on table on which to lay baby
Alchohol 70% (rubbing)
Cotton balls
Comb and / or brush
Ointment such as A & D for dry skin
Clean clothes for baby
Procedure
have everything ready before picking up the baby. Never leave the baby on the table unattended. Small infants can easily roll of the table ; keep one hand on the infant at all times.
Place the baby on the blanket or towel and wash the face with clear water. If eyes have been draining, sponge them with clear water. If eyes have been draining, sponge them with a clean piece of cotton, wiping from the inner canthus outward and using clean cotton for each eye. Wash the outer folds of the ears and behind them, but do not poke in the infant's ear because serious harm can be done. Remember ," nothing smaller than your elbow in the ear".
If the infant has a nasal dishcarge, wash the edge of nostrils withcotton but do not poke in the nose. To dislodge dried mucus just inside the nostrils, cleanse with a small piece of cotton dipped in water. This will usually make the infant sneeze and dislodge any mucus lodged further up in the nose.
Pick up the baby and hold like a football. Wet the head, lather well with soap and rinse well and dry. Combing the hair gently with a fine - toothed comb helps loosen and rid the scalp of debris that could cause cradle cap. Do not use shamphoo until the infant is 1 month old.
Undress the baby. Cleanse the diaper area with the clean wet cloth if the diaper is soiled. Always clean from front to back to avoid contamination of the urinary system with fecal material. wash hands before continuing the bath. (It is a good idea to have another small basin of water handy for handwashing).
Wash the baby's arms, trunk, and legs. Lather the body with soap, getting into skin folds, such as in the neck and underarms. Rinse soap from in the skin and dry thoroughly, making certain to dry well in the skin folds and in the groin.
Wash the genital area, getting into the creases. Gently cleanse around the labia of girls, but do not try to retract the foreskin in an uncircumcised boy unless under the specific direction of the pediatrician. Circumcision care should be performed on circumcised boys.
Dry the infant, then turn him or her on the abdomen and wash the back of the neck, the trunk, and lastly the buttocks, cleansing around the rectum.
Wet a cotton ball with alcohol, and wipe the cord stump and the skin immediately around it. This should be done until the cord fals off. The cord may take 3 to 4 weeks to dray and fall off. If a few drops of blood appear when the cord falls off, simply wipe the area with alcohol. There should not be any drainage the next day.
Remove the wet towel on which the baby had been lying, and dress the baby accoording to the season. Fold the undershirt up and the diaper down so that the cord is exposed to the air to promote drying.
